It would be nice if defaults from nodes would be copied to inputs when creating a new one.

Yes, I keep wishing that would happen too. 
Inheriting the default, like the name, as you drag makes sense (and should be relatively easy).
I’d love to support the idea of ‘not overridden’ on an input so you could change a default value afterwards and have it propagate to any procedures you dragged it out of that haven’t had their default explicitly changed.
